Geekdom United Podcast Ep 18 – The One About Wonder Boy, Baskin & The Stan Lee Story

We are back (and late once again) with episode 18 of the Geekdom United podcast…and as it turns out, we’re two years old this month! Hip, hip hooray and happy birthday to us!To celebrate this momentous occasion, we have…absolutely nothing in store. With that said, on this month’s show we have a quick chat about the absolutely amazing remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap by Lizard Cube (to be continued on the Retro Domination podcast, wink wink) and we have not one, but three DVD reviews to cover this month. Tim braves the Turkish horror film ‘Baskin’, Mark channels his inner weeaboo and fails miserably with his review of the mecha anime ‘Aquarion Logos’ but gets his comic book fanboy on with the review of the documentary ‘With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story’. All this and more, so we hope you tune in and enjoy!

We owe a huge thank you to our good friends at Madman Entertainment and Umbrella Entertainment for kindly providing us these DVD’s for review!

+3 To Geekdom Podcast Episode 12 – The One About Exploding Kittens, Warhammer & Centurions!

After some extremely frustrating technical difficulties, we are finally back with episode twelve of the +3 To Geekdom Podcast. Thank you for your patience!

On this month’s episode, take a look at one of the funniest and anxiety producing cards that we have played so far in our Geekdom travels titled Exploding Kittens. If you mix one part Uno with one part Russian Roulette, then you have a fair idea of what you’re in for! Next up, Tim details his wallet destroying venture into the world of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40K. Finally, we wrap things up with a trip down memory lane as we check out one of our favourite 80’s cartoons: Centurions – Power Xtreme!

With our technical problems now out of the way, we hope to get back on track and we’ll see you in a couple of weeks!

+3 To Geekdom Podcast Episode 11 - The One About Civil War, Overwatch and More!

After a bit of break to deal with that little thing called ‘real life’, we are back for episode 11 of the +3 To Geekdom podcast....and it’s a bit of a bumper episode!

To kick things off, we share our thoughts on Marvel Studios latest cinematic blockbuster in Captain America: Civil War and then head into our main topic for the month: family friendly board and table top games including the likes of Tsuro, King of Tokyo, Diamonsters, UNO (the destroyer of friendships) and more!

Following on from the board game talk, we move on to games of the video variety as we gush over Blizzard’s brand new IP, the team based first person shooter Overwatch! Not content with all of that, ‘Shithouse Theatre’ returns from its long hiatus as we discuss the Mary Harron directed cult movie classic “American Psycho”. Were we impressed by the silian rail font on Patrick Bateman’s bone coloured business card? To find out the answer to this burning question and our monthly Q&A, you’ll have to tune in to find out!

+3 To Geekdom Podcast Episode 8 - The Rascally One About Martial Arts Movies

Ladies & Gentlemen, we hope that you all had a great Christmas and an even happier New Year! We are back for our first episode of 2016 and it is a bumper episode! After months of teasing and for what has seemed like an eternity, we have finally managed to peg him down. That's right: the man, the myth, the legend that is Andsy of Rad Rascals fame has finally joined us on the +3 To Geekdom podcast!

For a change of pace this month, we put down the controllers and set aside dice and instead we put on our Gi's, tighten up our black belts (or white belt in Mark's case) and strap on our gloves as we chat about some of our favourite martial arts flicks and stars of all time. Andsy also fires off some rapid fire questions to keep us on our toes and we have our usual community Q&A to round things out. Who was the only one not to study martial arts growing up? Just how much does it cost to get started with Imperial Assault? And just what in the hell is "Showaddywaddy"?  Make sure you tune in and find out the answers to these questions and more!

Show Notes:

Not much to mention this month folks. However, if you wish to hear more of Andsy's dulcet tones, you can listen to him & Ben on the Rad Rascals podcast!
